My Spark and My Dream

How Intentional Celebration Can Change The Way We Gather

✨ The Spark

It began quietly – with a spark, in a season of stillness – a newborn in my hands, a blessing that helped me through struggles – locked down in my hometown. Nature returned to its glory while we were invited to live differently.

In that pause, I questioned my choices – living away from home, choosing excessive work hours over intentional time with people who mattered the most; I started asking myself what brought me joy and what difference I can make.

Covid reminded us of the power of love we hold for our dear ones, and the connection we crave when distance keeps us apart. I began to see beauty could coexist with responsibility. Cloth diapers instead of disposables. Reusable decor instead of plastic glitter. Upcycled gems that were painstakingly made and were strikingly spectacular. It was not about perfection but intention, small choices that carried big meaning.

This spark became the seed of Glow & Grove – an eco-luxury celebration brand where intentional choices and soulful storytelling shape how we celebrate.

My love for hosting, bringing everyone together and this desire to find better ways to live started merging. It showed me every celebration, no matter how small, is a chance to honour both the people we love and the planet we share.

🌸 The Dream

The dream grew from those moments of closeness – not just gatherings, but the heartbeat of connection.

Glow and Grove was never about events alone. It was about weaving intentional choices into joy, where eco‑luxury meets soulful storytelling.

Imagine tables dressed in blooms that later nourish the soil. Children playing, painting and dancing with joy, not plastics around. Hosts choosing elegance that doesn’t cost the planet.

Whether grand gestures or intimate spaces, every gathering becomes a reminder: we must not miss any reason to celebrate, connect, and love.

From that dream, Glow & Grove was born – my passion project where every gathering whispers: we can do better, together.

🌱 The Invitation

Glow & Grove: Eco-luxury celebrations meet playful elegance. Crafted for connection, curated for joy.

I invite you into spaces where petals return to the soil, where children paint with laughter, where tables bloom with elegance, and where hosts choose beauty that honors both people and planet.

The forth trimester – Struggle is real!

It gets real and how? This is when you bring your baby home.. all those months that you spent prepping up for, the moment of truth, is finally here and you would be excited as a puppy. But for most of us, the reality would bring in anxiety, fear of unknown and that sudden rush of blood!

This is going to be a journey of many firsts: your baby’s first home, first room, first night together as a family, first diaper change, first bath, amongst many other.

My Surdlet and I, in his first bedroom ever on our 2nd night home..

Chronicles of CORONA…

A new way of life..

Serious read alert.
Lockdowns, Border Restrictions, Economic downturn…and much more…

No one knows where it came from, or at least there’s no hard evidence to substantiate the many theories floating around. Whether it’s a result of laboratory leakage or in fact the bats gave this to us, we don’t know. Honestly, I don’t want to know.

What we do know is that:

  • Its highly contagious, transmits from one human to another, through droplets on surface – hands, eyes, nose! Apparently one infected person can pass it to 400 people.
  • It stays on surface and in the air for a long time depending on weather conditions
  • The virus mutates faster than any other and therefore antibodies developed in a patient may not even protect them from a relapse.
  • No one knows who is infected unless they are tested because a lot of people are asymptotic carriers, perhaps because their immune system is strong and therefore fighting it. but that makes it riskier because it may still be passed on.
  • There is no known medicine or vaccine and WHO mentions that we may have something ready in 12-18 months. Key word being “may”. This is wishful thinking. So the world needs to live in fear for the foreseeable future.
  • And because it’s declared as a pandemic, entire world is trying to save their people. Easier said than done.

Nations, big or small, first or third world, developed or developing are all struggling to contain and combat this virus. A battle is being fought globally and healthcare officials and other essential service providers are the real fighters.

The onset of forth trimester!

things that no one really talks about..

We’ve all heard stories about how difficult or beautiful those 9 months could be, what to expect from your body and the little being growing inside you. We may also get to hear tons of birthing stories – mostly the horrid ones, because the well meaning people around us want us to know what can go wrong and want us to stay prepared.

First things first, be kind to yourself and say NO to any horror stories: A strict and firm NO.

Moving on, what no one really talks about is what happens after you’ve delivered and then when you return home – the forth trimester! And that is tougher darlings.. our bodies go through so much and there’s so much to be taken care of… I would love to share some bits from my own experience and I really hope it helps in some ways and makes you feel a little better prepared… ❤️

As a first time Mother, I feel extremely grateful that I attended a few classes, read a lot and that I have an army of women to support me – my mother, friends and helpers and above all my rock, my baby daddy.

But guess what, I’m still clueless about a lot of things.. and that’s alright 😊 We will all figure it out, one day at a time! We got this!

In this space, I’m going to start with what happens right after you have given birth.

First of all, you will be a ❤️New Mother❤️, a joy like no other and a blessing I wish for everyone. It will come with bewildering array of emotions, positive, negative, protective, overprotective, overwhelming but soooooo very beautiful.

Take your time to absorb the beauty of your tiny human, adore them, cuddle them, cry it out (trust me it might happen to both you and the Daddy).. try to sink it all in and settle!

Also, take pictures and videos, of what’s permissible.. you know there’s a video my baby daddy took because my doctor insisted he must and I wasn’t even aware of it… it was when my little Surdlet was brought to my chest… I broke in tears and laughter at the same time and I’ve no idea what language was I speaking but every time I look at that video, I tear up… it’s the most precious feeling in this whole wide world… and I would like all of us to be able to hold on to it…
